By utilising Ocluse Interactive services, you acknowledge and consent to the practices detailed in this privacy policy.

1. Compliance

Ocluse Interactive complies with the Data Protection Act, 2019 and the Data Protection Regulations, 2021.

2. How Your Information is Utilised

The data collected serves purposes falling into the following broad categories:

  • Identification: Purposes of identification and authentication in our systems and services.
  • Account Management: Setting up and managing user accounts. For example, to enable users create accounts, add information to their accounts, to log into their app or ot verify their credentials.
  • App Functionality: Purposes of features in the app, for example to enable functionality or authenticate users.
  • Communication: Facilitating the delivery of important information, updates, announcements, events and notifications via email or push notifications.
  • Analytics: Analyzing user interactions, scores and or achievements especially in the leaderboard.
  • Fraud Prevention, Security and Compliance: Purposes of fraud prevention, security or compliance with laws, for example, monitoring failed login attempts to identify possible fraudulent activity.

3. Information You Provide

When you sign up for or use Ocluse, you give us certain identification information voluntarily. This includes your name, email address and profile photo. Some of the information is mandatory while others are optional. This information is necessary for the basic operation of our Services. Here, we will explain why we need this information and what use we put it to.

Users voluntarily provide the following personal information:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Username
  • Display Name
  • Profile Photo

Name

We use your name to uniquely identify who you are, and it may or may not be your real name. It is important to note that your name will be publicly visible across the entire range of our Services. You are therefore advised to choose one wisely.

Email Address

The main reason we collect your email address is for identification purposes. In essence, your email address is your unique identifier to us. We also collect your email address for your security and that of others. A valid email address is our way of authenticating that you are a real person. We do this to prevent malicious and spam accounts, which may ruin the experience for others, from being created. We also use your email address to communicate important changes to you. For example, we use it to help you recover your account, and to notify you of important changes. We assure you that we will not email about promotions and other Ocluse advertisements, unless you personally opt in. Also, your email is private and will never be publicly visible to anyone.

Password

We collect a password from you to ensure that your account remains secure and that no unauthorised parties gain access to it. We assure you that your password is stored securely and cannot be viewed by anyone, including us. This also means that we cannot help you recover a lost password (you must reset it instead). We advise you to use a strong password and avoid using the same password for multiple different accounts.

Your Profile Photo

You may or may not provide us with a profile photo for use with our Services. It is noteworthy that your profile photo, if you provide one, will be publicly visible across the entire range of our Services. The nature of the profile photo you provide to us is of your own choosing, it may be something abstract like your insignia, or a pic of you, or some random cat idk. However, note that we take stern action against use of inappropriate content, and will lead to permanent loss of your Alox account. Keep it clean.

4. Data Security

Ensuring the security of your personal information is our top priority. We implement industry-standard measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction of data. Data collected is encrypted on transit.

Whenever possible, the information we collect is anonymised, hashed or otherwise obscured. We limit access to all personal information, to individuals within the company who require that access (for example, tech support personnel) and who have been trained on our privacy policies.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to external or third parties. Your data remains confidential.

6. Rights of The Data Subject

We response to all requests we receive from individuals who wish to exercise their rights as a data subject in accordance with the applicable data protection laws. When applicable, we will fulfill your requests ourselves. In the case of data which we do not directly maintain or have limited authority due to our position as Data Processors with respect to our partner Data Constroller, we will refer you to the appropriate partner to fulfill your request.

Data Controller Means A Natural Or Legal Person, Public Authority, Agency Or Other Body Which, Alone Or Jointly With Others, Determines The Purpose And Means Of Processing Of Personal Data;

Data Processor Means A Natural Or Legal Person, Public Authority, Agency Or Other Body Which Processes Personal Data On Behalf Of The Data Controller;

Users have the right to access, update, correct, delete or request deletion of their personal information among other Data Subject Rights (DRS) to be exercised. Changes can be made through the available services the user is using by contacting us using the contact details provided at the Contact Us section.

By using our services, you implicitly consent to the terms outlined in this privacy policy.

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in our practices and in response to changing legal, technical or business developments. Users will be notified of any material changes through their emails or other appropriate means.

Specific Services

Specific Services may also collect further or different information than what has been listed above.

1. Alox

First, our Alox Service allows you to send and accept friend requests with other users. Your list of friends, friend requests and blocked users is available only to you and will not be publicly published in any form. Second, Alox Services allows users to send messages among themselves. Any communication you have with anyone will only be available to them. We do not monitor nor store any communication you have with anyone across Alox. However, that does not mean we permit abusive content. We reserve the right, therefore, to review communication of any user who has been reported and we have sufficient reasons to suspect that they acted in an abusive manner.

2. Alox Poker

While using Alox Poker, you may opt into voice chat services. We assure you that Alox Poker will only record from your microphone for the duration of your game session, starting from the time you enter the game lobby to the time you leave the match. Even then, you will have complete control over when to mute or unmute yourself during such sessions. We do not keep any recordings of your voice communication with others. However, since we strictly forbid abusive and/or corrosive content, we reserve the right to record, store and review any such communications if we have sufficient reason to suspect that a user acted in such a manner as to cause unreasonable discomfort to other players. Again, keep it clean-clean.

3. Kenya Law

The Kenya Law App is a free app, provided as is and intended to be used as is without additional costs. Hereforth, we shall refer to the Kenya Law app as the App and the backend Themis API serving the app as the/our Services. We shall also refer to you, our user as the User.

What the App does

The App is a educational reading platform that provides you with access to the Laws of Kenya in a neat and comfortable manner.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect any personal information from you. However, in the course of using the App, it connects to our Services to retrieve information that is displayed to the User. In that course, our Services may log information including your IP Address and the time you accessed the API. This information is collected in order to help us analyse and optimize our Services to adopt service delivery.

Security

Any information that is collected from the User by the Services is automatically deleted after two weeks. While this information is stored in the Services, it is not exposed nor is it accessible by any third party. We value the little data we collect from you! Furthermore, the App's security policy is in line with the security policy of Ocluse Interactive as outlined above.
